Machine's told you: it is NOT compatible. You can use a tool called CPU-Z to see what is existing RAM the go out to buy the right one.

hi
"3 times pause then two beeps"
yes
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1997210-1528385-16
The red light blinks three times, and then two, short white light blinks
This condition indicates a potential memory failure.
16gb 2rx8 pc4-2666v-ub1-11 i
test one 8 gb in one slot, and the other
test the other one memory module , in one slot, and the other
nothing , incompatible
works with either
1 module is damaged
motherboard specifications, Erica
Memory | 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) |
if you made an addition, and not replaced both, you may have a "module incompatibility"
if the new one works alone, you must buy an identical one!

@jikari -- same as last stick
Do both sticks have the same number of memory-chips per side?
Do both sticks have memory-chips on both sides of each stick?
If the answer to either question is "no", then the two sticks are not the same.
Can you use your smart-phone to take a picture of the labels on both sticks, and post that image to this forum?

As the previous Forum members @banhien, @Prométhée, @itsmyname tried to ascertain, in order for RAM memory to work properly on your desktop, it has to: A.) needs to conform to the correct RAM specifications for your PC, and B.): preferably should be Brand/product ID identical.
For example, this useful Crucial RAM compatibility tool shows the correct compatible (2 x 8GB) RAM for your HP Pavilion Gaming - TG01-0023w: Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | hp - compaq | pavilion gaming tg01 series | Pavilion Gaming TG01-0023w |...
Of course, Crucial is but one example of compatible RAM. In any regards, you need to pair RAM with the following specifications: DDR4 PC4-25600 • CL=22 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR4-3200 • 1.2V [or 1.5V]• 1024Meg x 64

Yes, indeed, but there is just a simple test, as I mentioned
If it is an addition, original module, and new module
We test the new module on our own, it works, just buy the same one!
It may not be more advantageous to find exactly the same module than to buy the same new module, if it is compatible on its own!
But just that I did not understand, whether or not it is an addition, or replacement of the two
