Microsoft Windows 11

I just replaced the stock 2x8GB Kingston RAM.  When it was installed, it reported running at 3200mhz.  I just swapped it for this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y4ZZ7LQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and now it reports running at 2133mhz.  What's going on?  I checked my BIOS and there is nothing about XMP.  Did I get the wrong RAM?  Will this slower speed make a difference in performance?

Thanks for any assistance!

Sure. That will work.

It is guaranteed  by Crucial Memory to be compatible with your laptop.

64 GB seems a bit overkill to me. I'm just saying, but If it fits your needs and budget, go for it.

Crucial memory sells DDR4-3200 for your PC. Perhaps there is a problem with the Kingston modules you were sent.

To troubleshoot this, I suggest  temporarily putting the original modules back in to see at what bandwidth they run.

2133Mhz compared to 3200Mhz will make a difference in performance. You will notice it.

This is my exact PC model: HP ENVY Desktop PC TE02-0000i (3Y3Q8AV), and the exact RAM I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C29R9LNL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Went with 32GB.

Good? 😁

Yes.

The only reasons  that  I can think of you should need 64Gb would be if you are running CAD/CAM software or other graphics intensive CGI editing/steaming or rendering software.

If you are just gaming, 32GB  coupled with a powerful graphics card  (8GB or more VRAM) should be more than enough.

I'm into video editing and AAA gaming.  I have an Nvidia RTX 3070 with 8GB, a Core i9 12th Gen 12900 CPU, and a WD SN850X NVMe..  It's a beast, but lacked on RAM.  I really hope this works at 3200.  I definitely noticed a difference when I took out the 2133 RAM and put the 3200 back in!

Thanks!
