hi!

is it possible to use a 5th screen on an HPZ240 small form workstation? I have an NVIDIA QUADRA K1200 that has run 4 screens for years. so can I just add a 2nd basic graphics card to run a 5th screen? are there enough ports?

many thanks

Clayton

It is unlikely that you will be able to add another graphics card without running into power problems.

If your workstation was a standard sized one it would be a simple matter of adding a PSU that had more wattage.

With a SFF there are some serious limitations.

Thankyou for your help Erico - it is much appreciated!

So will the machine just not boot up or will it keep shutting down if I tried this?

Is it worth trying an extra graphics card or could it damage the machine?

many thanks

Adding an additional card could stress the motherboard. That would lessen the service life of your PC.

You might take a look at the (eGPU) externam graphics solutions available. It is a more expensive, but viable, means to add a few more displays if your budget  can handle it as an option.
