Yes. I would suggest going bigger than 128 or 250, though. That's quite small these days.

The HP 300-020 mini has a 500GB hard drive. The unoccupied M.2 SSD slot is limited to a SATA B+M keyed device, and the length is limited to 2242.
There is a posting in 2018, so I mention only the references because of personalities issue.

From what I understand, the OS was installed fresh, without the original hard drive installed. Here is a link to WIN 10 creation (USB). You will NOT have any serious gain with the M.2 SATA device, maybe 10%-15% based on solid state versus mechanical device. Look closely at the specifications on the M.2 SATA device. The larger the capacity, the faster the speed, up to the SATA 600MB/s ceiling. Expect variation of 540MB/s, or less.
