Hi @angelojinky,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out. I can understand how frustrating it is to see such a significant drop in gaming performance after updating the BIOS, especially when your games were previously running at 140+ FPS and are now limited to around 40 FPS.

Based on the model you've shared (HP Laptop 16-c0990nz), I wasn't able to locate the exact product information or BIOS details on the HP support portal. To help verify the correct BIOS version and available options for your specific notebook, could you please share your notebook's serial number in a private message?

With the serial number, I'll be able to check your notebook's exact factory configuration and determine whether there are any BIOS updates, advisories, or recommendations specific to your unit.

In the meantime, could you also let me know:

  • Is the FPS drop occurring in all games or only certain titles?
  • Have you updated the graphics driver after installing BIOS F.27?
  • Does the issue occur when the notebook is connected to the original HP power adapter?

Once I have the serial number and the answers to the questions above, I'll be happy to review the details further and help determine the most appropriate next steps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
