hp pavillion 23 Q 055 NA keyboard 802451-031
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The left shift key on my keyboard no longer functions so i cant use capitals when typing unless i press and then release caps lock or use the right shift key. its very awkward.

I'm happy to purchase a replacment keyboard but I cant find the identical one avalailable anywhere and i dont know what else would be compatible.

i'd appreciate help asap.

But, any "wired" keyboard with a USB connector will be compatible (a through z, 0 through 9, F1 through F12, arrow-keys).

I see that your current keyboard is "wireless".

So, you'll need to purchase a wireless keyboard with its own "wireless receiver".

To order genuine HP parts, start at http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=N1Y01EA

When I do, I see:

Electronic Accessories

Keyboard
-N/A-  802450-031  Wireless Keyboard/Mouse Kit - White Yellowstone Vesuvius UK

where the 'N/A' indicates that one cannot currently order that part (from 2015) from HP.

Sigh.

Try searching on Ebay or Amazon.

Thank you for your help . I should have made it clear it is a wireless keyboard and I am wishing to replace it with another wireless keyboard. There is nothng available on ebay uk.except a second hand one but maybe if the part is no longer available that is what i will have to do.

You will probably need to purchase a "combination": USB wireless receiver, wireless keyboard, wireless mouse.

Yes, the original part-number is showing on the HP Part Surfer site as 'N/A'.

So, yes, you can substitute any "generic" replacement.

Or, see: http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=LV290AA&opt=ABU&sel=ACC

for a HP-branded wireless receiver & keyboard & mouse, which, unfortunately for you, is showing as "currently out of stock", but a UK telephone-number is listed.  Call them; they may be able to recommend an alternative.
