First of all, what i say is nothing against you 🙂 I appreciate your support 🙂

For me thats a problem yes. When i buy a computer and HP writes everywhere M2 SSD (x4) than i want that the SSD works with 4 lanes and not with 2. And what really annoys me is that this has been written so many times by people and HP doesn't change anything. They are not even able to remove the wrong information.

Hi

No problem.

The M.2 socket is x4. There is no deception.

HP has decided to modify the number of lanes delivered to the socket. This is a decision made by the MB manufacturer.

I have Asus and Gigabyte MBs that do the same thing.

Hi,

There is a deception. The specs says:

JohnB15_1-1581928940730.png

For SSD (PCIe x4), not for SSD (PCIe x2).

Does it matter? I don't know. If the BIOS had the option to switch between x2 and x4 I would test a video rendering time and tell the difference.

That lie cost me time and nerves until I were trying to find a source of the issue.

Of course, it is not a lawsuit, it is just a disappointment in HP brand.

That sounds interesting, where did you see this?

Meanwhile i bought a Firecuda 520 and getting 3500 MB/s reading because it is a gen4 ssd, but still with 2 lanes instead of 4.
