I wish to install an m2 ssd but I need to know if it is an a,b,e,or m, and is it socket 1,2 or 3. And finally the length. The motherboard is a hp name: Lubin ssid:82f2. What brand/model would fit this socket?

I corrected my above error on the device type.  You need a NVMe model and there are lots to choose from at newegg.com.

HP ENVY 6055, >Custom PC - Z690, i9-12900K, 32GB DDR5 5600, quad NVMe drives 4K screen, NVIDIA 3080 10GB

You need a 2280 m.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.  I suggest that you consider a 512 GB model.  Intel has a product on the market.  Try newegg.com.  The Intel product is a bit pricey.

Know what the return policy is before you buy.

Edited to correct the device type.

Thank you for the new information, I'm not new to computer's but I am new to ssd's and the m.2. . So a 2280 m.2 NVMe it is. I appreciate your responses, you did not have to reply but reply you did and then updated the reply with more specific m.2.  information. That's very nice of you. Thank you for taking the time to help me.
