I am looking into how much memory ram I can put in my HP All-in-one Desktop computer 64bit 27" 64 op. system it has 4gb in slot 1 and 8gb in slot 2 can in put 8gb in slot 1 to make it 16gb of ram?

From what I can tell, you have this model PC:

 

HP All-in-One 27-cb0244 All-in-One PC Product Specifications | HP® Support

 

The memory upgrade specs indicate that it will support 2 x 8 GB of memory, so you should be fine with removing the 4 GB memory chip and replacing it with an 8 GB memory chip.
