HP L1950G Monitor stand

Dear all,

I have a curious problem and am hoping somebody knows how to deal with this issue. We are upgrading our monitors in the lab but the old monitors are stuck on the casing of the desktop. They do not seem to be glued, since I have put quite a bit of force on it and they did not move at all. They are also covering the release handle for the desktop casing, so the casing cannot be removed. My question is if there is some funtionality that allows monitors to be screwed on top of a dekstop casing, and how this might be released, any tips or advice are welcome,

the monitor stand type seems to be: HP L1950G Monitor stand

Hi Vincent,

I do not know if you have already solved your problem. However, it must be stuck to the desktop, either intentionally or through a reaction between the two surfaces. I would remove the monitor from the stand by releasing the screws on the backplate. This way you have better grip to try to force the base from the desktop.

Hope it helps,

David

Hi David,

Thanks for the advice, I had to use some serious force, and indeed the monitor stand was simply stuck on the surface since it had not been moved in over a decade
