Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have HP with dead motherboard that I want to change out. I have done this many times before. However, the dead board is MS-7906 Ver 2.0. All I can find online is Ver 1.0 or Ver 2.6. The Ver 2.6 looks more the same with only 2 DIMM slots, vs 4 slots in the Ver 1.0. Can I use either as a replacement?

@joetate -- I think that you will be OK. However, the copy of Windows that you "activated" on the current motherboard may not activate on the new motherboard, forcing you to purchase a new license for Windows 10.

If having only 2 DIMM sockets is OK, I would select the "2.6" motherboard.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I've done this twice with exact match motherboards (they were MS-7778 ver 1.0) and had no problems.
