HP touchsmart 520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My mouse jumps to the top right hand corner of the screen and will close applications. Even when i reduce the size of the windows the mouse still jumps there and i have to retrieve it any time i want to do something. It is really annoying.  This has occurred twice while i have typed this description.

Hi

Reboot your PC if you have not done this recently. Reboots sometimes fix, anomalous, transient OS deviations.

Please provide a specific HP product number.

Flaky Microsoft Windows 10 drivers can cause this problem.

HP may have a better mouse driver if HP is providing Windows 10 software and driver support.

I have rebooted several times and that does not help. In fact the issue is far worse when the computer has just re-booted.

After the computer has been on for several hours the issue is not as frequent. The computer is a HP Touchsmart 520-1155.

Hi

HP Support site is down, at least on my PC. Can't check your PC's specifications at this time.

Please provide factory operating system version and date you purchased your PC.

Windows 10 will not be supported on your PC if it was manufactured by HP prior to mid to late 2013.

Hi

Again, you have to provide a specific HP product number.

HP has sold many Touchsmart 520 products.

Hi Paul

Sorry about asking for the product number twice.

Have you tried a different mouse?

Try running HP diagnostics at boot.

You can tap "ESC" at boot. Then select diagnostics from the Startup menu.

Or download HP Vision Diagnostics here. Scroll down to HP Vision Diagnostics.

Run the file.

Install on CD or USB.

Boot to the media. Run full system tests. You may have a HDD or memory problem if a different mouse does not stop the problem.
