Finally! Vivian at [content removed] ie CWC was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helpful! She went right to the crux of the matter (4 pin spacing), requested the ID of my mother board, and determined that it was a "775" motherboard, which determined what heatsink I needed. Thank you Promethee for pointing me in the right direction. NOW, all I have to do is find out which cables in my old PC, plug into where in my old hard drive (P5, P6, P10, HL etc). My original issues derived from buying an "upsold" PC several years ago. The salesman sold me on something new and greater, BUT he didn't transfer some of my more important files (address book, important email, etc) to the new PC. I had had him pull the old hard drive for security, but when I dug out the old PC to search thru it, the heatsink was locked up and broken (probably my original problem) and the old hard drive was in my desk drawer! SOoooo, now I have to learn which internal plugs (P5, P6 P10 etc) go where into that Seagate hard drive! Ahhhh.. I don't know much about the internal setup of computers, but I'll learn. Boeing and Airbus type ratings were easier!
