Hi @ben12345678,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your USB keyboard isn't working on your OMEN 16 and you're getting a driver error, try the following steps to troubleshoot.
Update Keyboard Drivers:
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start menu and selecting it.
- Find Keyboards in the list and expand it.
- Right-click on your USB keyboard, select Update driver, and then choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Uninstall and Reinstall Keyboard Drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click on the keyboard under the Keyboards section.
- Choose Uninstall device and then restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the keyboard drivers automatically.
Check USB Port Functionality:
- Try plugging the keyboard into a different USB port. If you’re using a USB hub, plug the keyboard directly into the laptop instead.
Run Windows Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Select Keyboard and run the troubleshooter to diagnose and potentially fix any keyboard-related issues.
Test the Keyboard on Another Device:
- Connect the keyboard to another computer to see if it works there. If it doesn’t, the keyboard might be faulty.
Perform Windows Update:
- Ensure your Windows is up to date by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, then check for updates and install any pending updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
