Hello,
So, my computer fan stopped working, and I decided to open up the computer and clean the fan. Terrible idea, as I unscrewed everything possible and the computer fan fell.
However, I still was unable to open the panel to access the fan and put it back in place. I think it because there some screws that are ridiculously small.
Anyways, I was hoping someone could help me identify the screw size and how to fix this computer.
Thanks

This is a tad interesting.
1) If this machine is an HP a1642x, then is was issued in 2006 as an Win XP OS. Not WIN 8.
2) Is the product number tag stating this? RC664AA
3) To remove the side panel, you need only remove ONE screw. The panel slides away, Pg 2.
PS<> your "need help opening the harddrrive" is a mystery. Your comment refer to the computer case.

Hey Wb2001
Thank you for the heads up on removing the panel, I was able to put the fan back in place. I'm hoping I fixed the problem by removing dust.
To answer your question, we had to upgrade the computer to a windows 8, as it was not originally in place.
Nonetheless, expect a post here confirming if my fan is fixed.
Thanks again.

Hello,
So I was able to start my computer after the computer fan initially would not turn on.
More importantely, I hear a slight humming coming from my computer. I opened the panel and found out that the fan located more internally to the desktop was vibrating more than the others.
I did my best to clean the fans from dust, by vacumming, but I still hear buzzing. It very subtle, but noticable. Should I be concerned about my computer?
Thanks
