@speedster264,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

It appears that you cannot fit an upgraded motherboard in your HP 280 G2 Microtower PC (T6W22UT) desktop/case, because the HP 280 G2 MT motherboard successors (HP 280 G3 MT, etc.) have different motherboard layout/dimensions.

For example, gone (unfortunately) is the 24-pin ATX power supply slot, etc.

Your proposed (motherboard) upgrading is possible for a number of HP desktops, I have upgraded a number of PCs this way:

HP EliteDesk G3 SFF ➡ HP EliteDesk G4 SFF ➡ HP EliteDesk G5 SFF. And: HP ProDesk G3 MT ➡ HP ProDesk G4 MT [➡ HP ProDesk G5 MT -yet to be done]

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
