Hi @LV710,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand how disappointing it can be to not get the support you need, especially when you're trying to connect a device like the Nintendo Switch to your HP All-in-One desktop. Let's explore some possible solutions to help you connect your Nintendo Switch.
Check the HDMI Port Functionality
- The HDMI-out port on your desktop is intended to send video signals from the PC to an external monitor or TV, not to receive signals. So unfortunately, you won’t be able to directly plug the Nintendo Switch into this HDMI-out port.
Use an HDMI Input to USB Capture Card
- If you want to use your All-in-One as a screen for the Nintendo Switch, you can use an HDMI capture card.
- This device allows you to plug the Nintendo Switch into the capture card’s HDMI input and then connect the capture card via USB to your All-in-One desktop.
- After connecting it, you can use software like OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) to display the Nintendo Switch screen on your desktop.
Consider a Docking Station
- Another potential solution is to use a Nintendo Switch docking station with an HDMI-to-USB converter. This would still require a similar setup with a capture card to display the video feed on your computer.
Check the Input Method
- Verify that the HDMI port on the desktop is not marked as a specific type of "input" or "output", and that it’s intended only for display output.
Consider an External Monitor
- If you find that the desktop does not support input for the Switch, another straightforward solution might be to connect the Nintendo Switch to a regular monitor with an HDMI input. Then, you can use your desktop for other tasks while still enjoying the Switch on a dedicated screen.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
