HP EliteDesk 800 G6 Desktop Mini PC (8WY27AV)

question

HP EliteDesk 800 G6, my C: drive 512g is running at 60-62 degrees C, when doing some file intensive transfers.  teh  d: nvme, a asmsung 980 pro 2tb, is running at about 45-50 degrees.

if i slow down the operation (example, onedrive, 8 mb/sec upload speed, the temperature goes down to abut 58 degrees.

i'm using Crystal Disk Info for monitoring temperature.

Is this temperature a problem, or, what do your machines do that have similar nvme's in them?

i've read that up to 75 degrees C  is OK, don't want to exceed, but when i start hearing the fan churn up, it is concerning to me.

thanks

Those temps are fine.
0-70 Deg C is the  range of acceptable temps.

thanks very much !   I'm adding an extra 1-inch external fan (I'm 3d printing an external bracket to hang it from, to blow air into the case), to see how that affects the temperature, but i feel more comfortable with that spec.

again, thanks!

ok, i drew up  a small bracket, have a 40mm fan (40 x 40 x 10), single speed fans 2-wire.  drew up a bracket in fusion 360 to hold this fan externally, on outside of computer case, blowing INWARD directly over the mesh of the case, toward the NVME's.

AMAZING, it kept the temperature in a 45-50 range, during the prior-temperature-increase events of file uploads to onedrive, and local copying (about 50 gb of files, no throttling).  I have it wired to a small 12v power adapter (salvaged form some other defunct device), on a power bar, can be turned on and off.

again, thanks for your info on the actual temperature ranges, and now i have workaround so that i don't have to throttle any tasks !

have a great day !
