Greetings @ijsi
Welcome back to the Forum.
This is a tricky one if the PC only does this when it is sleeping. Getting to the cause of the problem could be time consuming.
What do you mean when you say it crashes? Does the PC shut down? Then you have to power on the PC. Or does the PC freeze at wakeup? Then you have to power off the PC and power on the PC.
Drivers or a Hardware issue:
A buggy driver can cause this. Faulty hardware from the power supply to the MB and any component connected to the MB can cause this. A flaky USB peripheral could cause this.
This problem is similar to a blue screen error. It is difficult to isolate the cause.
Troubleshooting Tips:
Troubleshooting this type of problem is a pain in the butt. I like to start with software/drivers. Replacing hardware is expensive and could be a pointless endeavor in futility.
You should only use: a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Try a different mouse and keyboard. Try different USB ports.
I would, if this was my PC, back up data and do a clean Windows install or a HP Cloud Recovery. Only do Windows updates.
Don't install any other software or drivers unless you need an AMD or Nvidia graphics driver. Run the PC for a good while to check stability.
Add your programs and drivers, one at a time, if the PC remains stable (no hardware issues). Check stability as you go before installing the next driver or piece of software.
The same problem right after a clean install would probably indicate faulty hardware.
You would now have to replace components, one at a time, if the PC is unstable right after a clean Windows install.
