My hp wireless keyboard (produced by your Palm Inc subsidiary), which had very little use, has a problem with the on/off switch, within the KT-1087 battery housing: the little plastic sliding piece appeared detached, and I cannot figure what was broken, even after removing a screw and inspecting the E 157925 circuit board :: I suppose there is no service here, and would like to find an alternative shortcut to the sliding piece function, without removing the battery housing cover :: Inserting the two AA batts., it appears in the ON state, and works normaly ::

I would suspect that your Palm keyboard is pretty ancient.
It has been at least a decade since HP stopped producing Palm devices.
It is unfortunate, but plastic parts and electronics devices do have an end of life.
I believe you have two options:
You can either live with the broken plastic piece or source a new Bluetooth keyboard.

Thanks to Erico for his trouble to send me a reply Mssg; but I would say it is a too vague overall reflection that gives me no help or insight whatever :: It is something less than ten years since I bought it; but is still new; and I did not write a dozen pages with it; dont care if the Palm brand stopped production; there are still dozens exposed to sell online; on Amazon and elsewhere; they cost around u$s 20 but with a postage cost about u$s 40 :: There are some bluetooth keyboards on the stores here, but mine has better quality and design, and with the english keyboard, which is a must requirement for me, and is difficult to find on the market here :: Opening the circuit board cover (which has the damned sliding plastic part of the switch), there is a mistery in the fact that you cannot guess what is broken or missing, nor how did it work before; so I suppose someone with experience can tell me a workaround to use it, without taking out the battery cover to turn it off ::
That is it ::

My reply was not vague. It was earnest.
A workaround is going to involve someone with a bit of basic electrical knowledge and soldering skill.
What you will need is likely to be an external switch soldered into the circuit where the original switch is to take the place of the original switch.
