HP Pavilion p7-1026b
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I recently bought this used computer for a CNC machine I am building. I need to install a parallel port for it to work properly.

I purchased this parallel port    http://www.pmdx.com/2PARPCI    and it dosn't seem to fit any slot. It's made to actually give me 2 ports.  Can you advise me on which one to buy. Or an adapter to make this one work. Looking at the pins on the Motherboard of the PC it seems like the slot is backwards on the Mother board. Or the Notch is on the wrong end.

Thanks for your valuable time.2PARPCI_800.JPG

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I never installed one myself.  All of my HP business desktop PC's came with parallel port cards.

I would pick one from the list I posted and get the cheapest one with the best/most reviews.

Wireless...I don't use internal wireless cards.  Had too many issues with them.

I use this external dual band USB wireless network adapter on my 3 HP business desktops.  Works great on W7 - W10.

I used the W7 drivers that come with the disk for W10.

Hi:

Looks like the only way you can add a parallel port, is to purchase a PCIe x1 card such as this...

The one you purchased fits PCI slots on older computers, which your PC does not have.

Thanks, do you have a recommendation on exactly which one? That don't cost an arm and a leg.

Also a GOOD wireless board for the same computer.

Thanks again
