Hi All,

Trying to upgrade this machine with a 128gb M2 nvme disk , installed it but no result.... the hdd is not visible in the BIOS.

This is the type I installed :

Transcend TS128GMTE110S SATA M.2 SSD 2280 harde schijf 128 GB 110S Retail PCIe 3.0 x4

Normally this should work for the Lubin motherboard.... anybody has an idea ?

Thx in advance , dimi

Have you tried using the diskpart utility from the command line to see if it is present?

with the SSD installed in the

At a command prompt(admin) type in diskpart and press enter.

Now type in list volume and press enter.

You should see a list of all storage devices connected to your PC as in the example below from the PC I am typing this on.

Looking at the motherboard specs, I do not see any description that says there is support for NVMe SSD.  I also do not see any success stories from people using an NVMe M.2 SSD with a Lubin motherboard.

PCIe SATA3 M.2 SSD should not be a problem.

Erico,

Going to check this in the evening , also upgrading the BIOS might help a read on other forums.

But it is for sure not present in the BIOS and that is strange, maybe I have to enable or disable something ?

There isn't anything you have to enable or disable in the BIOS for the M.2 slot.

All that should be needed is a compatible M.2 SSD.

I have not seen anywhere in the motherboard literature that NVMe M.2 SSD products are compatible.  The only mention of compatibility for storage devices is SATA3.

An  850  EVO SATA3 M.2 SSD should work.

Erico,

If I look to the MB layout , they refer to the M key (Lubin MB)

So I have looked further and I found this :

https://www.atpinc.com/blog/what-is-m.2-M-B-BM-key-socket-3

ALso when you look further M key is the NVMe interface protocoll....

But yes it look all a little confusing..

I have to check tonight further , starting with upgrading the BIOS.

But already thanks for your input.

Actually in the link that you supplied as a reference shows that neither the M key or B key refer to NVMe.

See the image from the link below.

Both keys refer to what I have been telling you in my earlier posts.

Now, do you see why you are having difficulty getting NVMe to work?

NVMe is not a protocol. It is an interface specification.

Update.....

Updated the bios , installed this one https://www.impactcomputers.com/mz-nty2560.html

No result, contacted HP UK and the said that HP never tested this board for M2...can you believe that ?

So 2 option , the slot is not working by default or the MB is broken
