I don't understand your question.

A 32 bit operating system can only use up to 4 GB of memory.

Since you are running a 64 bit operating system you can install up to the maximum memory your PC's motherboard will support which is 4 x 16 GB of memory.

Now, if you want to install DDR4-3200 CL22 memory you can but it is only going to run at 2400 MHz because that is as fast as any Intel 7th gen core processor can run the memory at.

So, if DDR4 2666 CL 19 or DDR4-3200 CL22 memory is easier to find, by all means you can use that memory as well.

It does not have to be DDR4-2400.

You're very welcome.

What is the model number or product number of your PC?

How many memory slots does it have?

One or two?

MBO: B250M-DS3H-CF

I think that have 4 slots, not sure,I changeHD  and than not look...

According to the specs of the motherboard you posted, it supports up to 4 x 16 GB of DDR4-2400 CL17 memory.

GA-B250M-DS3H (rev. 1.0) Specification | Motherboard - GIGABYTE U.S.A.

16 GB memory chips are very expensive nowadays.

Maybe you just will want to add another 8 GB memory chip for now.

The memory would go in the second slot from the currently installed memory, not the slot next to the one the memory is installed in.

Paul it s better if I put another 8gb,I reed that better work like this.....and I must put identicli same ram like it is in now

HP Recommended

If you can find the same memory chip as the original one installed, that would be best.

I have used different memory chips such as Crucial and installed with the different brand OEM memory that the PC manufacturer installed and it worked fine.
