Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi everyone,

Recently i upgraded my pc.

My latest config:

psu 350 w

motherboard ipisb ch2

cpu i5 2400

gpu gt710

my issue it with the video card(gt 710).When i power up  my pc i dont get anything on the screen jost some beeps from time to time.

what i found on the forum:

"

@vaez,

I will be as polite as I can muster (it's after midnight), if that matters?

Your unit is a model that has a boot environemtn called BIOS.  Modern GPU cards are UEFIvBIOS.  So, the motherboard can never support a modern UEFI card. That leaves you with the older circa 2012 cards like the GTX 660.   Another issue is your Intel CPU chip, it is an I3-2100 chip, so you should go here and run a few tests."

So i got back to the bios and this is what i got :

uefi.pngsys.png

As u can see the bius type is uefi but it s Legacy mode.

Honestly i dont really get it..

Could be a bios issue?

Can i make it work?

Thanks

Hi Szja,

I can see the image now.

You have a Legacy BIOS.

The 710 is not going to work.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

I don't know your PC's product number. Providing the product number will remove the confusion and lead to providing a definitive answer.

But, the Pegatron ipisb ch2 motherboard has the Intel H67 chipset. This chipset was released by Intel in Q1'11.

This suggests your MB does not support a UEFI BIOS. HP did not use UEFI until late 2012 or early 2013.

Therefore, an Nvidia GT 710 will not work because this graphics card requires a UEFI BIOS.

You can install Nvidia 600 series graphics cards in your motherboard.

Your images are not viewable at the time I am responding.

You must disable Secure boot and enable Legacy boot to initialize a GT 710 on your PC if it has a UEFI BIOS. So there is a different compatibility/device problem if your PC cannot boot to the GT 710 and you have a UEFI BIOS.

this motherboard has a bios that seems to be unable to corectly detect/switch between  a video cards Legacy/UEFI  bios modes

all video cards (except for a very few) have a legcay and uefi  compatable bios., as such they will work in just about any computer made

you problem has nothing whatsoever to do with the video card, or when it was made. the issue is that your motherboard is unable to corectly detect and use the legacy portion of the cards video bios,  it remains stuck in UEFI which your motherboard does not support there are a few models of the 750 that have a video bios switch to select the cards bios mode instead of the method most cards used (which is automatic vis software)

if you can find one of thes cards it will work or get a nvidia 680 series which is a legacy only bios type card

i would contact MSI support and see if they still make a card with a video bios switch
