@8CC8201RK5, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP All-in-One - 20-c416il is not powering on, and you suspect a power button issue. Let's go through a few steps to help diagnose and potentially resolve the issue.
Check Power Source and Cable
- Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the PC and a working wall outlet.
- Try a different wall outlet to rule out power supply issues.
- If available, test with another compatible power adapter.
Perform a Hard Reset
This helps drain residual electrical charge that might be preventing startup:
- Disconnect the power cord from the PC.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and try turning the PC on again.
Inspect the Power Button
- Press the power button and observe if there's any tactile feedback or if it feels stuck.
- If the button feels jammed or unresponsive, it may be a hardware issue requiring service.
Check for LED or Fan Activity
- When you press the power button, do any lights turn on or fans spin?
- No lights or sounds: Likely a power supply or motherboard issue.
- Lights blink or fans spin briefly: Could indicate a startup or hardware fault.
Try a BIOS Recovery (if applicable)
If the PC shows signs of life but doesn’t boot:
- Turn off the PC.
- Press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
- Release the power button but continue holding Windows + B until you hear beeps or see the BIOS recovery screen.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
