Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm currently using a KBAH21 HP keyboard with a Sony Vaio VPCEG from 2011.  Sometimes the keyboard will multiply what I'm typing several times.  For example, if I type in a password of Texas1992, it will type "Texas1992Texas1992Texas1992Texas1992."  Does anyone know a way to make this stop happening?

IMHO this is a problem with your Sony VAIO

I suspect it is overheating.  There should be air vents: see if you can blow out any dust.

Since it is old you may want to disassemble and clean

There were BIOS updates at one time but it seems they were removed by Sony.  I see bios updates at softpedia but not at Sony

For example VPCEG16FM update is here at softpedia but not at Sony

Sony released some updates to prevent overheating but I do not see your model.

What is the exact model of your sony?  I am guessing that VPCEG is only the first part of the mode identifier.  is there a VPCEGxxx?  what is the xxx if any.

Thanks.  Taking apart my Sony Vaio is a good idea and cleaning out dust is a good idea.  The full model name of the Sony Vaio is VPCEG1BFX.  Only on certain websites, does it will multiply my keyboard input by several times.  Also, it doesn't happen when I'm using the built-in Sony Vaio keyboard.

There is a bios update for your system but it applies specifically to a screen problem.

I would not update unless you had that exact problem.

Possibly a USB problem but it could still be related to overheating.
