My HP Pavillion desktop wont upgrade to windows 11 due to processor incompatibility. Purchased 4yrs ago.
I currently have the stock configuration.
AMD Ryzen 3 2200G
Radeon yega graphics
I tried using an AMD ryzen 5 5600g w/ radeon graphics but my PC wont respond. Keeps cycling on and off. The swap went well, but the included heat sink and fan assembly had a different bolt pattern, so I reused the original heat sink but swapped the new fan unit.
Can someone recommend a processor that is compatible with my board and windows 11. Is there a compatibility list? Or tell me if I missed a setup step. This is my backup office unit, not used much, so all im looking for is functionality. I do not game with this Pc.
Thanks
Nick

Hi, Nick:
There are two processors you can install in your PC's HP 'Sunflower' motherboard that meet Microsoft's minimum W11 processor requirements, but you will also have to install a graphics card.
HP Desktop PCs - motherboard specifications, Sunflower | HP® Support
Those would be the:
AMD Ryzen7-2700 or the AMD Ryzen5-2600.
Since your PC only has a 180W power supply, you would be limited to your graphics card options, unless you were to upgrade the PSU.
I'd go with a Nvidia GT 1030 GDDR5 graphics card which only has a 30W power draw.

Anytime, Nick.
Glad to have been of assistance.
You can install W11 on your PC as is without investing any money into it if you are interested.
