prodesk 400 g4 dm CPU upgrade

HP Recommended
prodesk 400 g4 dm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, just picked up a prodesk with an 8th gen Pentium and a B360 chipset. I know this chipset supports 9th gen CPUs, but may need a bios update. Will a 9th gen chip work in this prodesk that shipped with an 8th gen CPU?

Hi:

Below is the link to the HP quickspecs for the  prodesk 400 g4 dm.

http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/c06045417.pdf

The supported processors can be found on pages 13 -17.

Make sure you look under the DM grid.

No 9th gen core processors are supported.

I don't see any BIOS updates that added support for new processors.

You can read the release notes for each update at the link below.
