Microsoft Windows 11

I got an eBay HP ProDesk400 G4SFF i5-7500 a few weeks ago and put an AMD Radeon R7 350X in it and its a fine low end gaming computer.  It didnt have WiFi so today I put in a TPLink AC1200 PCIe WiFI card, and the graphic card stopped working.  I can use the onboard DP, but of course thats slow intel IRIS graphics.  I tried an older working graphic card AMD R7 430, and it also doesn't not work.  I took out the WiFi card and the graphics cards still dont work.  Tried rolling back the BIOS and that didnt help.  Any ideas on what else I could try?  Many thanks, R

Considering that the i5-7500 draws 65W ,the AMD Radeon R7 350X  draws 65W and the motherboard with its chipset and the additional WIFI card also draws some wattage, you may have damaged your  DEsktop PC's motherboard.

That’s a really good point. No, I don’t have another PC with pci-e.  I wasn’t aware that I could even do that, although that’s what my experiments seem to suggest.

Is there a fuse somewhere :).

I ordered one of those from China pci-e tests boards.  Do you think that could diagnose?

thx again. R

The "fuses" are subminiature circuit components.  Zero Ohm components which serve as circuit fuses.

You may be out of luck with that PCIe slot and stuck with the processor graphics only.

I think you might be right. I ordered another eBay same model to test the gpu cards. This one was only 60$, so it’s not that bad a loss.  It’s just a shame to lose a perfectly functioning machine like that.  Well, the use of a graphic card.  Thanks for your help. I’ll report back what the China pci-e tester card says, etc etc.

You're welcome.

I wish I could have provided a fix, but sometimes that just is not a possibility.
