If your motherboard has an on board video connection and you also have an add on video card try switching between the 2 while the pc is booting, or even past the boot stage. When I had a similar problem I had to replace the pc power supply. Hope this helps.

Sorry that i forgot to memtion that switching between the two actually works for a similar predicament that i am in now.

when I start up my computer I get error message no dvi vga signal...monitor going to sleep.

I then reboot and go into safe mode and no problem there...so it is a conflict with the driver...I have reformatted though...

Any answers out there?

I have vista 64 bit operating system

Thanks in advance

I am having the exact same problem!  Its been driving me crazy!  I am using my monitor now hooked up to my daughter's laptop and it works fine.  The cables and everything else has been tested.  The CPU has been checked for errors.  I have an HP e9107c with an HP w2338h monitor.  Please help!

Really sucks because my mom's computer is only a couple yrs old at best.  And sort of hard to update drivers when you can't get the monitor to work.  I have no idea what is what when it comes to inside and the motherboard.  I think HP builds them crappy so you can take it to them to have it fixed.  We've tried everything we can think of.

Have you tried replacing the power suppy? It might
Be getting power, but there is not enough amprage to support the monitor. Remember volts don't flow. With power supplies, they support EVERYTHING in the PC, it is an electronic part, on portion can work properly but not another. Power supplies usually last 2-3 years they start going bad. Another monitor may Work for a while because it requires less amprage, it doesn't mean ur power supply is still good for the monitor portion of the MotherBoard. Power supplies are cheap get a 500-watt atleast, it should work.

Replace the power supply with a 500watt or higher, it should work.

Replace the power supply with a 500 watt or higher, it should work. You know your monitor is good. Im pretty sure its the power supply.

Power supply to the monitor or the pc itself?

The power supply for the tower is all in one. Replace the tower power supply. There is a connector that supplies power for the monitor portion of the motherboard.
