Solved!

ram memory upgrade

HP Recommended
Pavilion a430n
Microsoft Windows XP

I am trying to confirm maximum ram amount for the Pavilion a430n, Product # DQ176A, Option ABA. I would like to upgrade this unit to Win 10 64 bit. The specs are no longer available on HP website. Found a listing on CNET saying 2 GB and memory sites saying 1 GB. Found one site that said 4GB at 32 bit and 128GB 64bit.

Hello
this computer had to be under windows xp ..
You most likely will not be able to get it to work properly on Windows 10.
The max would be between 1 or 2gb max
128 gb, seems unlikely to me given the age of the motherboard
this is not the right model but must be close:

https://support.hp.com/ie-en/document/c00027837

A7N8X-LA (Escape)

from what I could find it would be the model with the pavilion a430n :

A7N8X-LA (Focus)

Thank you for your response.  All the model information I have was in my original post. I guess my final question is will it run the 2 GB of ram. Can't have to much DDR ram.

I will try the Crucial scan and see what comes up. I guess I will just reload it with XP
