ram upgrade issue

after looking at the specs and verifying compatibility of the mother board with ram sticks i purchased "

Crucial Ballistix RGB 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3600 Desktop Gaming Memory (Black)" however after installation of both sticks my computer would sit there and beep after awhile i just left it alone to try and figure things out and suddenly it worked again however the issue is now it only recognizes one ram stick and honestly i dont even know if it properly distinguishes the one ram stick it does use. what should i do?
