@jaideep5, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Based on your description, it sounds like your laptop may have suffered moisture damage, which is now triggering multiple system alerts:

  1. CMOS Battery Warning
  2. Overheating / Vents Blocked Warning
  3. Incorrect System Time

Let’s go through the steps to address each issue:

Power Off and Dry the Laptop

Since the laptop was wet:

  • Immediately power it off and disconnect all peripherals.
  • Place it in a dry, ventilated area for at least 24–48 hours.
  • Avoid using a hairdryer or heat source, this can cause further damage.

If possible, place the laptop in a container with silica gel packets to absorb moisture.

CMOS Battery Warning

This usually appears when the internal battery that stores BIOS settings is failing or disconnected.

  • After drying, reset the BIOS:
    • Power on the laptop and press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
    • Set the correct date and time.
    • Save and exit.

If the warning persists, the CMOS battery may need replacement

Overheating / Vents Blocked Warning

This could be due to:

  • Moisture interfering with thermal sensors.
  • Dust or debris in the vents.

Steps:

  • Use compressed air to clean the vents.
  • Check if the fan is spinning properly.
  • Monitor temperatures using HP’s built-in diagnostics:
    • Restart and press F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
    • Run the System Tests > Thermal Test.

Incorrect Time

This is linked to the CMOS battery or BIOS reset.

  • After BIOS reset, ensure Windows is set to auto-sync time:
    • Go to Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time
    • Enable Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically
