Fingerprint ready and the WWAN module (to support Mobile Broadband) are both optional features available in selected products.

Start by checking whether your includes the necessary hardware.

Note that the SIM card won't work by itself -- you also need the WWAN module installed inside the computer.

Open

Maintenance and Service Guide 

Search for "Fingerprint" and for "WWAN"

Review the relevant information.

Possible WWAN modules listed on Page 40

Check your Device Manager for the Fingerprint device and the WWAN module

Example - Device Manager > Biometric devices

Device_Manager_Biometrics_Camera_1

Example - Device Manager - Network Adapter > WWAN module

Device_Manager_Network_Adapter_Mobile_Broadband_Adapter_WWAN_6

After checking the system and confirming that you have the required hardware,

If you need to check / install drivers,
