Hi, since a while my normally very quiet AIO is making much more noise from the fan.
On the back, the computer is also very warm.
Probably need to get some dust out after almost 3 years? or coolant of any kind? but how to get there?

Hi,
I've cleaned out the dust in the mean time, but there wasn't a lot.
And it's still making noise, but it is only after a while.
The BIOS uprgrade, I couldn't do as my version was not listed (80.05 out of 2013)
Is there an update for this version?
regards
Marc

there is a hp support application that can automatically identify your sustem and provide list of updates available, including the bios.. unless you have uninstalled it, it is on your pc..if you have uninstalled it, then search for the s/w on hp support site.
if your pc is not making noise then it is after a while, AND the air is warm at the back of the pc, then it is running hot for some reason, so i suggest you open it up and ensure that the CPU fan is running. if not fans are cheap and easy to replace.. check the size and # of pins and head to amazon.
there is a utility called speedfan which should (may) read the temperatures and status of the fans.. it doesnt work in current Omen systems (believe me, i tried!) but does work on older machines.. this software can help you decide what is going on.
I "assume" that you have checked the performance monitor to check that the cpu is idle?, after all, the best way for the fan to make noise and the air get hot is for the CPU to be working hard.. CTRL+ALT+DEL ; task manager ; more details; performance.
