I have been using my PC regularly since i bought it. One day suddenly my touchpad stopped working, as I also use wireless mouse and it works fine, so I didn't feel the need to get it checked before. but recently I noticed that on random occasions the touchpad starts working, and then again, suddenly it stops working. most of the times there is no visible cursor either unless I use an external mouse. This issue has been occuring since few months. It most probably seems to be a hardware issue.

Hi @user_ypawar,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the touchpad on your HP Pavilion X360 is not working, there are several steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
- Check touchpad settings: Make sure the touchpad is not disabled or turned off. On your keyboard, press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app. Go to "Devices" and select "Touchpad." Ensure that the touchpad is enabled.
- Update touchpad drivers: Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause touchpad issues. Visit the HP support website (support.hp.com) and search for the drivers specific to your HP Pavilion X360 model. Download and install the latest touchpad drivers, then restart your computer.
- Restart your computer: Sometimes a simple restart can fix temporary issues. Restart your computer and check if the touchpad starts working again.
- Clean the touchpad: Dust, dirt, or debris on the touchpad surface may affect its functionality. Use a soft cloth or microfiber cloth to gently clean the touchpad.
- Disable and re-enable the touchpad: On your keyboard, press the Windows key + X and select "Device Manager" from the menu. Expand the "Mice and other pointing devices" category, right-click on the touchpad entry, and choose "Disable device." Afterward, right-click on it again and select "Enable device."
- Check for physical damage: Examine the touchpad for any visible signs of damage. Ensure that there are no loose connections or broken components.
- Perform a system update: Make sure your operating system is up to date. Install any pending updates for Windows or any other software related to the touchpad functionality.
- Use an external mouse: As a temporary solution, you can connect an external USB or Bluetooth mouse to your laptop and use it as an alternative input device until the touchpad issue is resolved.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
