HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Base Model Small Form Factor PC

I put in all 4 sticks at once but the computer won't "boot".

by placing each memory individually in each dim, the computer boots normally.

The operation of the computer is possible in the following cases: dim 1 - dim 3 dim 1 - dim 4 dim 2 - dim 4 dim 2 - dim 3

also first put in dims 1, 3 as read in the pc manual, rebooted so it would "see" them, then after turning it off, put the other 2 in dims 2, 4 and rebooted, no success.

The power indicator light flashes red and a beep sounds periodically.

Why does this happen, given that the computer's capacity is 64 gb ram?

motherboard: hp8054 kbc version 05.39

how is it resolved?

thanks Yours sincerely Dimitris Manasis

@dimmanasis,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

Yes, 4 x 8GB of DDR4 PC4-17000, 2133 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, DIMM (UDIMM), 288-pin RAM sticks is indeed compatible with your HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF.

You could use DDR4 PC4-19200, 2400 MHz or DDR4 PC4-21300, 2666 MHz RAM sticks, both would down throttle to 2133 MHz, as that is the fastest your RAM can run in your desktop.

It is important not to mix different RAM: stay with identical RAM: same brand, model and capacity.

My questions are:

1.) What individual RAM sticks are you trying to install
2.) What processor do you have installed

Kind Regards,

Hi NonSequitur777

first of all have a nice week and thanks for your answer.

firstly my pc had a ram of 8 gb DDR4

Samsung [DDR4-2133 (1066MHz)] part number M378A1G43DB0-CPB, serial number 99253A2A

in order to upgrade ram memory to 32 gb i bought 4*8gb Kingston Fury

DDR4 2666MT/s CL 16-18-18 1.2V PnP KF426C16BBK2/16

as i wrote by placing each memory individually in each dimm, the computer boots normally.

also first put in dims 1, 3 as read in the pc manual, rebooted so it would "see" them, then after turning it off, put the other 2 in dims 2, 4 and rebooted, no success.

After chatting with my friend, I first placed two memories on white slots, restarted and then placed in one black. The computer worked normally. Finally I also placed the 4th memory, but the computer didn't work.
I placed Samsung as the 4th memory and the computer works normally.
I'm confused, I can't explain it.
I haven't studied computers, but I can't understand what the placement series is.
From a computer store, they told me that the motherboard has a problem, but I don't find it reasonable, since each of the new RAM is operating normally on every slot.
thanks

@dimmanasis,

That is indeed puzzling, I am not sure what may be causing this issue.

One option -that is, what I did once, is to return your KF RAM and purchase a different 4 x 8GB of DDR4 PC4-17000, 2133 MHz, Non-ECC, UDIMM, 288-pin RAM kit, such as from Crucial or Samsung.

Kind Regards,
