Good morning,
I would like to upgrade the graphics card of my EliteDesk 705 G5 Small Form Factor.
Could SAPPHIRE TECHNOLOGY AMD Radeon RX 6400 (4 GB) be a good solution?
Are there any problems with the power supply?
Are there any other graphics cards you would recommend?
Thanks for your suggestions

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!
An RX 6400 has a 53/55-watt TDP. It appears that your 180-watt "platinum" power supply should be able to power an RX 6400 like this HP EliteDesk 705 G5 SFF User shows. Make sure that the Sapphire card's dimensions (LxWxH) are a fit for your case.
Unfortunately, I could not locate a power supply upgrade for your desktop.
Don't bother with any other graphics card such as a GT 1030, as it will not be a graphics upgrade.
Kind Regards,

I installed the SAPPHIRE TECHNOLOGY AMD Radeon RX 6400 graphics card and it fits, unfortunately the power supply is not powerful enough. Can you recommend me a 350W or higher power supply that I can install on EliteDesk 705 G5 Small Form Factor?
Thanks!

I dug deep trying to locate any power supply upgrade for your HP EliteDesk 705 G5 SFF -but again, I could not find one unfortunately.
Speaking of your Sapphire RX 6400, there are a number of its users who claim that this card runs well with a 180-watt power supply:
Not sure what to recommend. For all intents and purposes, there really should be a power supply upgrade for your desktop -but it is exceedingly elusive.

When the card is installed, the pc fails to start. The same happens if I try to start the pc without a graphics card. The PCI slot works, because I installed another card and everything works correctly. I suspect it might be the defective graphics card. Tomorrow I'm looking for another pc to test the graphic card. In the meantime, thank you very much!

I installed the graphics card on another PC and it works.
Unfortunately I am increasingly convinced it is the power supply: when the card is inserted the power supply fan starts and stops, starts and stops...
The worst thing is that from the reviews that @NonSequitur777 showed me, for other people everything works perfectly.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
My PC is an HP EliteDesk 705 G5, AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 3600, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD.
Is there an alternative power supply for this case?
Thank to all
