Excuse my ignorance, but what kind of external psu would be suitable for my graphics card? I don't think there is an extra power connection.

Thanks again everyone

@diolula,

The best way to integrate any high-end graphics card with your HP EliteDesk 705 G5 SFF, is to work with an ATX 24-Pin to SATA 15-Pin power supply adapter card which looks like this:

Which I used for my HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF upgrade project as you can see here and here.

What this entails, in a micro-nutshell, is to sync (aka 'daisy-chain') an externally placed secondary (ATX) power supply which is dedicated to power an externally placed graphics card (high-end cards are too bulky to fit inside an SFF case) whilst keeping your original power supply in your SFF.  This is what that looks like for my HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF upgrade project:

Incidentally, there is a compatible 500-watt power supply which fits inside an HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF, with p/n: L77487-003, which I used, because I installed a 127-watt processor, an i9-9900KS.

Anyway, this is probably much more than you cared to ask for, but here it is.

Kind Regards,

This is a DIY solution meaning you should route the internal power connections of your GPU and make an adapter to an eternal PSU, this requires soldering maybe a multimeter etc etc. You will need a 12v psi with lots of amps in the end it will look like a laptop PSU

Thank you, but I think it's beyond my knowledge... Replace the original power supply with this one? The connectors seem the same as my 180 power supply, and yes the size is too large and therefore should be on the outside...

What do you think about this?
