Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP 860-140 Desktop using the 4.00 gigahertz Intel i7-6700K processor, this processor falls below the Microsoft radar for use with windows 11. Will anyone share any knowledge about what is a good upgrade/replacement CPU?

@wacky24 --- Microsoft has a list of Intel CPUs that they have certified for use with Windows 11.

Of course, you will have to confirm that such a CPU will be compatible with your current motherboard.

Hi, @wacky24

Below is the list of W11-supported processors...your PC's processor is not supported, and your PC's motherboard does not support upgrades to a supported W11-processor.

If you are wanting to upgrade to W11, I can give you two easy ways to bypass the W11 hardware checks, and a way to go back to W10 if necessary, after the default period allowed by Microsoft to 'go back to W10' expires.
