I'm looking to purchase a video card to upgrade my pc I have Hp envy TE01-1xxx desktop I can't find out what kind of open slots I have on the motherboard, not sure what video card this pc will accommodate. I'm trying to run MS Flight Simulator software I know it requires a pretty powerful video card.  Please let me know will it be e-PCI or something else.

thanks

@scowan80,

Your HP Pavilion Desktop - TE01-1xxx as fitted with a Baker motherboard (SSID: 8767), has one PCIe x16 (to install a GPU) and one PCIe x1 slots.  If you got a 180-watt power supply (please check and report back), you'll need to upgrade it with a 400-watt power supply (p/n: L69242-800 *) which is equipped with one 6+2-pin PCIe power cable in order to power a graphics card that will accommodate you to play MS Flight Simulator.  You can purchase one of these power supplies online, such as via these Trusted eBay Sellers: New For HP Power Supply 942332-001 400W 280 288 285 480 600 680 800 790 G3 G4 US | eBay, or: New For HP Power Supply 942332-001 400W 280 288 285 480 600 680 800 790 G3 G4 US | eBay.

As you can see, in order to play MSFS decently, you'll need a capable graphics card:

* Alternative 400-watt power supply part numbers: L04618-800 / L76557-001 / 942332-001 / 942332-003.

I would choose something between "recommended" and "ideal", such as a GTX 1660 Super, GTX 1660 Ti, RTX 2060 Super, RTX 3060, or the RTX 4060.  Look for a smaller-sized (two fan) model, to be powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable.

If you got a budget amount in mind, let me know, and I will endeavor to locate the best GPU-bang for your buck.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

thank you so much for all the good information, you are right I have the 180 power supply so I will have to upgrade that first before the video card.  I'm planning on taking you recommendations for the power supply, after I have that installed will shop for the video card.

thanks Scott
