Hi, I want to upgrade from my current GPU, a Geforce GTX645 to something more powerful.  Can you advise what's the best graphics card I can upgrade to without making changing / modding the current motherboard?  I want to use it for photo and video editing.

The computer is a desktop 800-060.  Here's a screenshot.

@itchyfeet,

That HP 800-060 has a 600W PSU. What is the PCIEx16 power plug dangling loose, an 6 or 8 pin plug?

Depends on the plug:

GTX 645 (HP states it is a meager 75W card).  No PCIE power required.

GTX 1060 vs GTX 645 performance is shown here, you can plug in the GTX 1070  or GTX 1080.

GTX 1060 120W card 6 pin

GTX 1070 150W card 8 pin

GTX 1080 180W card 8 pin

Factors: price, and length of card.

Thanks.  I did see that thread but that posting was 4 years ago so wanted something a little more up to date if I am going to upgrade.
