I am going to upgrade to a better gpu specifically a 2080 supper and need to upgrade to a better power supply unit. When looking at the connections to the mother board there is a 6 wire 7 pin flat connector to the psu. I can’t find any information about what it is online or what it does. It is next to a normal 6 pin connector and 2 sata connectors. So my question is this, Is the 6 wire 7 pin connector necessary, if so how do I find it online?

First of all, the PSU is proprietary plugs. It is not an ATX off the shelf PSU.
Secondly, you are wrong about that inline 7 pin connector. According to all documents and video data it only has 3 wires. The actual PSU only has two 2x2 power plugs and that inline 7 pin plug.
There is a 500W PSU # L05757-800. That would work with the RTX 2080 Super, if the 10.5" card fits. So, MEASURE. I am sending up my spreadsheet, so you can reference. That video contains step by step how to remove the existing PSU.
Compare the 795-0039c to your unit side by side. Pay attention to the GPU card (its 185W). The RTX 2080 Super is an extra 75W.
