HP p2-1113w
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have this OLD desktop (which I LOVED) and wondered if I could upgrade all the components necessary to make it "newer" and faster, to run Win 10 or Win 11 without lag.

I fully understand MOST, if not all, the components would need replaced; i.e., processors and graphics, etc....but is it possible?

I have a new HP PC, less than 18 months old...and I HATE IT.  Seriously, I HATE IT, and would like to know what would be involved, and if it is even possible to upgrade the motherboard components in the old PC.

And please, no lectures.

Just the information if you have it, and thanks for your time.

Hi:

The only upgrades you can do on your P2-1113w desktop would be to upgrade the memory and replace the 3.5" mechanical hard drive with a better performing 2.5' SATA solid state drive (SSD).

You would also need a 3.5" to 2.5" hard drive adapter to properly mount the smaller SSD.

The processor is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded, and there is no slot on the motherboard to add a graphics card.

You can still get the free upgrade from W7 to W10 by clicking on the blue Update Now button at the link below.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

I would do that before replacing the hard drive because it will be easier to reinstall W10 if you do.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with your 18-month-old PC without knowing the full model number or product number.
