First, I know how to build computers so please don't speak to me like i don't know what I'm doing. I have a hp p7 1030, I have tried a gt 630 that didn't work then I tried a Radeon HD 6770 that didn't work, so I don't know what to try? It had a HD 4xxx series in it before, so don't understand why it's not working. Can someone give me a list of supported graphics cards, I heard the 6870 should work from the forums here but I don't want to spend 50 on a card I possibly can't use.

If your computer is the HP P7-1030. as shown here, The BIOS is legacy, and not not use a UEFI card.
The GT 630 is UEFI
HD 5570 (39W) is legacy. Your 250W might not power it. A 350W is recommended.
HD 6870 (151W) is legacy. Need a 450W-500W PSU, with 2 x 6pin PCIe power plugs.

You need to un-install all the software that pertains to any GPU card, and its drivers.
The unit is defaulting to a card that is not installed.

@turtlecuber,
The HD 6770 is legacy (circa 2011) card. Legacy cards have a release date prior to Sept 2012.

@wb2001 So then I don't understand why it's not working then? The computer works without a graphics card.

I do not have experience with any Dell GPU cards.
Their non standard PSU's were enough to turn me away more than a decade ago.
