i want to upgrade my storage from 246 to a 500 gb ssd stick and i want to know if i can just download windows 11 onto a usb and then swap out the current drive and stick in the new one and boot up my pc and then put in the usb that has w11 on it and download it right there because when i first put in my new usb it told me i needed to have a operating system so im wondering if i can just put the new one in and then add the operating system or is it more complicated ?

hi
I advise you to try first, to create a clone of the original ssd, to install it on the new one...
with the macrium or other software of your choice

but if windows 11 is stock anyway, no problem, it should work
to see, there may just be a problem like this
