Hi @chicxomohamed,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Let's troubleshoot the issue with your HP v250w USB flash drive. Here's what you can do to try to fix it.
Check USB Connection
- Try different USB ports on your computer to rule out a faulty port.
- Test the USB drive on another device to see if it works there. If it doesn’t, the issue is likely with the USB drive itself.
Disk Management (Windows)
- Press Win + X and select Disk Management.
- Look for your USB drive in the list:
- If it appears as Unallocated, right-click it and select New Simple Volume to create a partition.
- If it appears but without a drive letter, right-click and choose Change Drive Letter and Paths to assign a letter.
- If it says RAW, proceed to formatting (Step 3).
Force Format the USB Drive
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Type the following commands:
diskpart
list disk
select disk X (Replace X with your USB drive number)
clean
create partition primary
format fs=ntfs quick (Or use "format fs=fat32 quick" for FAT32)
assign
exit
- Check if the drive works now.
Use HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool
- Download the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool (free utility) from HP’s support site or a trusted source.
- Use it to attempt formatting the USB drive.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
