i own a 40L hp omen Got it for $400 absolute steal from best buy but want to upgrade my cpu . GT22-1324 Is the model and i currently have a ryzen 7 and want to put the ryzen 9 inside that i’ve seen you guys said will work , do i need a new cooler or will the ox be okay?

If you're upgrading from a Ryzen 7 to a Ryzen 9 (like the 5900X or 5950X), yes — it's compatible with your B550-based board, but here are a few essentials to keep in mind:

Cooler: The stock HP air cooler (OX) can handle the Ryzen 7, but the Ryzen 9 runs hotter under load. For best performance and longevity, we highly recommend upgrading to a more robust air cooler or a 120mm/240mm AIO if your case allows.

BIOS: Make sure your BIOS is up to date before installing the new CPU. You can find the latest version on HP’s support page for your model.

Thermal paste: You’ll need to clean the old paste and apply a fresh layer when swapping CPUs.

The OP's OMEN 40L GT21-1324 as fitted with the FrostBreath motherboard (SSID: 8A98) shows a limited number of compatible processors, the Ryzen 9 7900 being the best one.

Looking amongst OMEN by HP 40L Gaming Desktop GT21-1xxx Userbenchmark Users, I see no other processors -except the Ryzen 7 7700X.  Granted, this particular PC has fewer than most benchmarks.
