The specs of your 11 years old machine is

     https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c01959711

Its motherboard has

  • Expansion Slots:
    • 1 PCI x16 slot for graphics card
    • 3 PCI x1 slots
    • 1 PCI Express x1 minicard slot

You won't get much from those PCI slots. Please try

            https://www.ebay.com.au/b/PCI-USB-3-0-Port-Expansion-Cards/90718/bn_99093222

            https://www.mwave.com.au/product/startech-2-port-pci-usb-30-card-w-sata-power-ab66969

            https://www.mwave.com.au/product/startech-4-port-pci-usb-30-card-w-sata-power-ab66976

In terms of price/performance, I would not do that.

Regards.
