Hi everyone,
I'm planning to upgrade my CPU cooler because my i5-9400 is reaching 75–80°C while gaming. I've firmly decided to replace the cooler, and I'm considering the Deepcool AG300.
I want to ask if I can install it on my motherboard. The mounting bracket (retention ring) will of course be used. My current cooler doesn’t have a ring and isn’t handling the CPU well, so I’m wondering if the AG300 will fit properly.
Can I install the AG300 on my setup?

The height of the cooler doesn't matter to me — if it's too tall, I'll just remove the case side panel. I'm using Thermalright TF7 thermal paste, but even with that, the temperatures are still high, and I'm experiencing freezes in games like PUBG or CS2. Even outside of gaming, when using apps like Photoshop or Premiere, the CPU overheats if I don't limit Turbo Boost. The issue specifically happens when Turbo Boost pushes the CPU to 3.9 GHz, but I can’t disable it since I need the performance.
My current cooler is the one that came with the PC when I bought it: cooler
Now my question is about the metal bracket on the back of the motherboard — which one are you referring to? The AG300 cooler comes with a circular mounting ring, but my current cooler doesn’t have that. I just screw it directly into the motherboard.
